Dry Needling

Dry Needling & Sports Injuries

When you have an injury involving joint or muscle tightness, it limits your body’s ability to function correctly, which can directly affect your performance in a sport and may even result in further injury.

How Does Dry Needling Work?

The needles are inserted into specific ‘trigger points’, or areas of knotted muscle fibres. This technique provides an immediate muscle response, which allows the muscle to relax, increases blood flow to the area and therefore increases healing time.

Is Dry Needling Safe?

Lara is specially qualified in the application of needling and always ensures patients consent to the needling.

Needling techniques are stronger than massage. Therefore you may feel sore or 'wiped out' after treatment, and this can last for 24-48 hours.

If you are afraid of needles, they are not essential during treatment and alternative methods of treatment can be applied.
